Daily photography workshops located in the Medina in Essaouira.
For things to do in Essaouira, our photography sessions can be adapted to suit absolute beginners, those who need refreshers and experienced photographers who need guiding and portfolio feedback. Typically the photography workshops start at 10.00 and run until 1.00 breaking for lunch before we pick things up again at 5.00 for another 2 hrs. Riad Maison du Sud, centrally located in the Medina, is where we’re based.
If you’re a novice we’ll start with your camera controls:- setting the aperture, shutter speed and ISO and well as setting up your camera’s functions to suit your style of shooting. We’ll also take a look at photos that work and those that don’t. There’ll be a few shots in the authentic Riad setting and reviews to see how much is making sense before breaking for lunch. Meeting again in the late afternoon, the light is perfect for some serious image-making. We’ll explore a route around the medina covering a mixture of abstract, architecture and portrait photography so you can cover a few bases. Afterwards back at the Riad we’ll upload the images and review and select some for the online gallery. It’s also a opportunity to plug any gaps in knowledge.
For the photography workshops we have the run of an entire Riad with many rooms ideal for working with interior light, 18th Century stonework and well as Moorish fabric and glass designs and of course the Medina is very photogenic. We use a 22 inch monitor for reviewing images. The price for 6hrs individual tuition is £95.
